Taste of West Seattle

The Taste of West Seattle is an annual benefit for the West Seattle Helpline. Started in 1989 the organization provides emergency assistance to neighbors in need. This particular event provided a great opportunity for some 400 ‘neighbors’ to sample the best fare from West Seattle Restaurants and caterers. This charming cake was created by the Sugar Rush Baking Company. To view all the images from the event CLICK HERE!

13,000 Pierogi gone in 4 hours!

…meat pierogi, potato & cheese pierogi, mushroom pierogi not to mention fruit pierogi of all kinds!

Hundreds attended the annual All You Can Eat Pierogi Fest at the Polish Home at 18th & Madison in Seattle. Some went thru the line several times to fill up on these traditional tasty morsels of Poland. While resting between plates of food one could witness cultural activities like a  pierogi making demo; folk dances by Polonez of Vancouver, BC; and listen to music by the polish choir Vivat Musica. Children could learn how to make palms and polish cutouts. Seattle’s own youth group Mlodzi Polanie performed and then taught some courageous adults their wonderful routine!

All in all it was a wonderful afternoon of sharing our Polish culture with family and friends.
