Just some pretty flowers

Just some artsy fartsy pics of flowers shot between images during yesterday’s senior session at the arboretum. It’s always changing. You never know what will be in bloom!

Senior pics than on to the prom!

You never know how a senior guy is gonna react to having senior pics taken. But Alex was up to the challenge and came fully prepared. He takes a few classes at the community college so he was familiar with the gardens. He led me to spots I didn’t know I had access to so it was exciting for both of us. The Chinese Garden and the Arboretum provided great backdrops under overcast skies. I shot way to many but with a willing subject you just gotta roll with the flow. Hope you had a great time at the Prom!

Community gathers at Taste of West Seattle

Don’t ya just love it when neighborhood comes together?! That’s exactly what happened at the annual Taste of West Seattle benefitting West Seattle Helpline. VIP donors arrived early to partake of yummy treats, great food, wonderful wines and more. A pleasant evening made enjoyment of outside entertainment and food in big white tent. The event was held at the Hall at Fauntleroy in West Seattle – one of my favorite venues. To see more images of the event click here.

2015 CCFA Benefit Luncheon a success

The 2015 Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation annual lundheon was held a the Hyatt at Olive 8 on May 8th. Hundreds of supporters enjoyed a lunch of chilled salmon while listening to Dr. Skip Virgin, MD, PhD talk about recent research being done regarding Crohn’s disease and IBD.  Also exciting was being on hand to see Dr. Scott Lee, MD (my sister’s doctor) receive the McCready Family Award for his ongoing efforts to better the lives of those living with these debilitating illnesses. Ray Liaw gave a moving speech regarding her young daughter’s struggle with the disease beginning at age 5. Luckily her daughter, who is now 10, takes dance lessons, piano lessons and so much more – just about anything any normal 10 year old might do.  It feels good for me to give back in this small way to the organization and people and doctors who have helped my sister in her fight to conquer Crohn’s.

Elvis is alive and well at Holy Rosary School Auction

I saw Elvis! Really, I did! Great fun was had by all as the elusive “Elvis” (aka Bret Wiggins) graced the stage at the 2015 Heart Auction for Holy Rosary School in West Seattle. Guests arrived dressed for the nifty 1950’s and if lucky enough had their photo taken with Elvis.  During his performance you’d think we were back in high school, with screaming fans and dancing! Congratulations on another great auction.
