Angels in Wings of Courage debut 2013 Calendar

It has been my honor to work with both men and women who are breast cancer survivors over the past few years.  The ‘angels’ of AngelCare are truly inspiring in their fight to survive, their enthusiasm for life and the courage to share their stories with others.  The Winters House in Bellevue was the site of this year’s calendar launch. Click here to see images from the event. Take a peek at the 2013 Angels and purchase your own calendar by contacting the Angel Care Breast Cancer Foundation located right here in the Pacific northwest.

Time for senior portraits

Mom pulled up to the studio last Sunday and said “Camden’s in the car, got time?” So I grabbed a camera and we headed off to the community college and roamed the garden there. Looks like we were at five different locations.  Got done quickly and Camden was able to finish his day doing things HE really wanted to do:)

Tis the season for polka dots and tutus!

Emme popped in to see me for her 1st birthday photo shoot. She was a little apprehensive and stuck close to mom most of the time. But some pretty flowers, an enticing apple and a suitcase to climb on brought her personality out! Not to mention the cute pink sunglasses…

Seattle Great Wheel

The Seattle Great Wheel is a sight to see  especially when the light show begins.  I watched for close to an hour and was never disappointed. With the demise of the Alaskan Way Viaduct just around the corner this big wheel should be able to draw big crowds to the waterfront over the years. Next time I go, I think I’ll take a spin!

Baby Marie

Marie’s first studio photo shoot was a great success. She arrived just after waking from her morning nap with smiles aplenty. A little fashionista, she modeled her sweet little dress, cargo pants and pink peddle pushers for me.  Only six months old, she was quite the charming little girl with smiles galore until the hiccups struck…then it was all over…I think mom and dad and Marie will pleased with her first photo shoot!

Last look at Alki

The Barnett family decided that since they were moving to Boston it was time to have that family photo taken on Alki. So, after packing all day long they headed to the shores of Alki for one last play date with the kids. I was happy to join them and must say we got some great images that will last a lifetime! We traversed the shoreline with the only mishap being, I got stung by a bee!

Arlington Fly-in Fun

There were planes, trains and automobiles…well almost anyway.  There were planes, a car show and a military display well worth visiting. The B-17G “Sentimental Journey” was a high flyer as she took off with several passengers for a ride of a lifetime. Alas, all I could do was watch her fly by. But on the ground I was up close and personal with her as well as other war birds.  Camp Adams Military history encampment was very interesting and showcased lots of military jeeps and memorabilia. Oh, and what an airshow!

MOPS serves up a tea time tradition

There’s nothing like tradition.  And the West Side Mops have created just that with their annual MOPS Tea fundraiser.  Over 100 friends, family, mothers and daughters sat down to an afternoon filled with good company, good conversation, delicious treats and of course tea.  The beautiful tabletops expressed the artistic side of the guests. Once again, I was on hand to capture their ‘traditional’ event photos. Sales were donated back to the West Side Mops.  Click here to view all the photos from the tea.

How many Pierogi can you eat?

This year’s Pierogi Festival was a first of it’s kind for Dom Polski.  Dancing, singing and eating took to the streets as the parking lot was turned into a staging area for wonderful performances by the Polonez dance troupe from Vancouver BC; Seattle’s own Polish Choir – Vivat Musica and Mlodzi Polanie youth group; plus White Eagle folk group  from Victoria BC.  This year there was all you could eat Pierogi plus potato pancakes (my favorite!), stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and bigos.  Guests could dine in the polish hall or sit outside and listen and dance to the fine entertainment.  For those who worked up a thirst the Beer Garden was a major attraction. The weather was just perfect for this wonderful Polish cultural event.  To view all the images just click here.

CCFA Luncheon at Olive 8

I support the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation because my sister has dealt with the disease for over 20 years. Giving back to CCFA is an honor.  Meeting special people like Mike McCready and his lovely wife, the kids at Camp Oasis is all very rewarding. Once again I was on hand to offer my photographic skills in capturing the annual benefit luncheon.  You can view the images from the luncheon be clicking here

Mike McCready & Ashley O’Connor Award 2012 goes to Ghassan Wahbeh, MD

Below Ashley McCready and Barb Wodzin pose for a photo at the luncheon.

The Kennard Family get a chance to meet Mike McCready. Their yound son suffers from Crohn’s just like Mike.
