In search of ‘giraffes’

Most guys are somewhat anxious about their senior session but Jake breezed right through it. We went in search of the local ‘giraffes’ and industrial look at Jack Block park on Alki. Jake was always one step ahead of me and I think we found what he and mom were after….

Vanessa moves with grace

Vanessa is a senior at Holy Names. She is a dancer and had a strong vision of what she wanted to accomplish as we moved through Lincoln Park close to sunset. I think you’ll agree she’s a graceful young woman. Here are my favorite images:

Katherine’s Senior Session

It’s been a great weekend for senior portraits; especially outside here in West Seattle. I had the pleasure of working with Katherine, a senior at Chief Sealth High School. We took a walk through Lincoln Park stopping at some of my favorite spots and ended down by the water. Hey, if you are wondering where the Fauntleroy white swans went – they’ve been relocated to Vashon Island and are doing well!

Here are my favorite images of Katherine:

Erin’s Senior pics

It’s time for senior photos and I was asked to photograph Erin…a sweet redhead who goes to Vashon High School. Somehow she managed to walk through Lincoln Park and down to the water in her red high heels – I guess it is all about the shoes! And she didn’t trip once! Some of my favorite shots were taken on a big rock at the water – I fashioned it after the Little Mermaid in Copenhagen.

Katie’s Senior Session

Seems like just yesterday that I photographed Katie’s brother but it was four years ago! Now it’s Katie’s turn. Katie and her friend came over on the Vashon Ferry and then we ventured to Lincoln Park in the late afternoon and created some very nice images. Here are my favorites….

Goodguys Car Show

I love car shows and this was the granddaddy of them all – Goodguys 29th Pacific Northwest Nationals at Puyallup Fairgrounds. There were hundreds of cars! Throughout the day the vintage cars rolled down ‘main street’ so to speak as we wandered through the event.  This show I focused on color, line and shapes. But my favorite was the two guys admiring this old car:2432-Goodguys

Elvis ’68 Comeback Special

It was a fun evening at the Center when “Elvis” appeared live and onstage! Local talent, Bret Wiggins is a local and national favorite whose shows captivate all who attend. He graciously posed with guests and then sang some all time greats, some hidden treasures and Elvis’ favorite gospel songs. Ladies swooned as they received colorful scarves from the man himself. Dinner was Elvis’ favorite meatloaf, glazed sweet potatoes, collard greens and maple syrup cake with bacon! Delicious…you can view all the images from the evening by clicking here.

Lower Lewis River Falls

It was a pleasant day for a drive to Gifford Pinchot National Forest with Mike Penney and Ed Coumou. First stop was about 150 miles south at Cougar Bar & Grill. Nice homey atmosphere with a touch of woodsy outdoors. We traversed a couple of babbling brooks before reaching our final destination: Lower Lewis River Falls. The easy trail made the journey very pleasant. A delightful view of spectacular waterfalls surrounded by old-growth forest was the reward.  One could sit and listen to the falls all day long. Ahh….

But it was time to leave, but not before stopping in Woodland to view the Old Grist Mill and a silo.
