Allie conquers Georgetown

I enjoy working with families on a regular basis thru the years. I photographed Allie’s sister last year so when it was time for her senior pics we decided to do something a little different. Allie has a unique style and flair that I thought would come across well in the artsy community of Georgetown.  We drove down with four outfits in hand and found some unique places to capture her personality.    Allie goes to Kennedy High School.

’tis the season for family portraits

I’ve been photographing the Anawalt family for 6-7 years now. It always amazes me how fast the girls are growing up. Even though we’ve used their front and back yard many times for a backdrop I often find new corners of inspiration. The girls decided they wanted their picture taken on the trampoline. I think we got it! Here’s a little peak at the family pics.

Crohn’s & Colitis Benefit held November 9th

The dice were flying and the bidding was furious at the annual Casino Night & Auction benefiting the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation here in Seattle. Over $60,000 was raised with patrons walking away with VIP Pearl Jam concert tickets, Dinner with Nancy Leson, a Sayulita getaway just to mention a few.

Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affect both children and adults. My sister was diagnosed over 30 years ago and today lives a very active life despite the occasional flareup and trip to the ER. Having a local chapter in our own backyard has been most helpful.

The Fauntleroy Fall Festival is now a family tradition…and I’m so pleased to be part of it!  It was great fun seeing old friends and meeting new ones. The crisp fall day was a perfect backdrop for the annual souvenir family photo.  You can download your complimentary image by clicking here.

Kayla’s Senior Session

Kayla has a style all her own. We strolled through Lincoln Park top to bottom and then headed over to Alki. The soft overcast skies were perfect to work in creating wonderful lighting.

Ladies of Boeing

I was tickled when my dear client Jan called and asked if I could give some photography pointers to her group of friends. We met up at Endolyne Joe’s for a nice lunch and then headed over to Lincoln Park. Everyone brought their camera of choice: from iphones to ipads, from point and shoot to DSLR.  We talked about the all the dials on the camera and how they could be used to improve their photos. The beautiful flowers caught everyone’s attention so we experimented with those selecting our close up dials and wow – they got some nice images!  Of course we had to head down to the water as well. Here’a nice little group shot of the ‘ladies of Boeing’….

Carrie’s Senior Session

Carrie will graduate from Holy Names. We met up at Lincoln Park. She spent much of her childhood playing on the slides and swings so she was right at home. Her easy going smile  made for some great shots. Mother nature provided soft overhead light and gentle breezes.
