We bumped up Maddy’s session due to forthcoming rain and the day was well chosen. The soft light highlighted her features just perfectly. Dressed casually we wandered through the park and then headed to the water. Maddy plans to pursue a degree in nursing. She’s got the perfect smile and manner so she is well on her way.

Playing in the rain at Fauntleroy Fall Festival
It was a wet and windy afternoon but plenty of kids big and small attended the annual Fauntleroy Fall Festival. We thank you for coming out in the pouring rain to ride the ponies, decorate a pumkin, eat some hot dogs, and have your photo taken!
Stand Tall for History
“Stand Tall for History” was the theme of this year’s Southwest Seattle Historical Society Gala. Held at Salty’s on Alki we ate a delicious lunch and listened to Paula Beck and Alan J. Stein, authors of “The Future Remembered: The 1962 Seattle World’s Fair and Its Legacy” as we gazed in wonder at the Space Needle which was bathed in red reminiscent of 1962! It’s a tall order being the keeper of our local history and the historical Society and its Log House Museum should be commended for keeping our history alive. Fightin Nick
Nick is an interesting character. He goes to West Seattle High where he participates in wrestling. He didn’t bring his fightin’ gear; instead he was dressed very casually. We stuck close to the studio and did some portraits inside and then headed outdoors. The cool grey and black walls made for interesting photos. This cool cat will work toward a nursing degree.
Zoe loves her sports
Zoe came in for her senior photos the other day. Mom ‘thought’ a studio session was in order but once I took a look at Zoe’s wardrobe and found out more about her outside seemed the place to go. We did capture a few images in studio which are nice but the ones of her with her basketball seemed to come alive. There’s a rarely used hoop just outside my door and I decided to have her shoot a few. Then we headed down to the park and water for some softer compositions.
Vashon Senior
Christopher caught the ferry to the Fauntleroy dock and headed on over to the studio. We went with ‘plan B’ and hung out in the alley after seeing his clothing choices. Mom was tickled to death when she arrive and found him in jeans, striped shirt and red tie and green sneakers! What a combo but it worked well for his senior moment!
Maddie’s Senior Session
I love photographing high school seniors. Maddie, her mom and I caught up with each other at the gardens on campus in West Seattle and found the perfect backdrops for her photos. Mom thought it was great working outdoors especially since Maddie is more of an outdoorsey kinda gal and into sports like volleyball. Here are some of my favorites. Don’t forget – it’s never too late or too early for senior pics!
Angels in Wings of Courage debut 2013 Calendar
It has been my honor to work with both men and women who are breast cancer survivors over the past few years. The ‘angels’ of AngelCare are truly inspiring in their fight to survive, their enthusiasm for life and the courage to share their stories with others. The Winters House in Bellevue was the site of this year’s calendar launch. Click here to see images from the event. Take a peek at the 2013 Angels and purchase your own calendar by contacting the Angel Care Breast Cancer Foundation located right here in the Pacific northwest.
Time for senior portraits
Mom pulled up to the studio last Sunday and said “Camden’s in the car, got time?” So I grabbed a camera and we headed off to the community college and roamed the garden there. Looks like we were at five different locations. Got done quickly and Camden was able to finish his day doing things HE really wanted to do:)
Tis the season for polka dots and tutus!
Emme popped in to see me for her 1st birthday photo shoot. She was a little apprehensive and stuck close to mom most of the time. But some pretty flowers, an enticing apple and a suitcase to climb on brought her personality out! Not to mention the cute pink sunglasses…
