I’m not sure which is more challenging: kids under two or kids over 20. Either way I certainly enjoy capturing the family dynamic no matter what the ages involved. Jim and Maudie live in Port Townsend so naturally anything close to the water and ferry dock is a must. They were joined by their two grown children Kathy and Mike plus the better halves. Grandkids Matt and Natalie were home from college so we had the whole family. We covered the park from bottom to top and I think we got just about every combination possible. I know they’ll enjoy these images for a long, long time.

Happy 75th!
I was honored to be part of this celebration held at Endolyn’s Joe’s. Dad will be celebrating his 75th birthday so the family threw a little surprise party for him … and was he surprised to see me. While family portraits wasn’t what he was expecting we got some great shots with some great smiles. And who wouldn’t be smiling if you got an orange wheelbarrow as a gift! Happy Birthday!
Playful cousins
I’m always pleased when my brides begin to have families and include me in their life. I spent the morning at The Cove with these sweet cousins right before the 4th of July. Getting kids this young to pose for a formal photo was pretty challenging but their playful antics made for some wonderful captured moments in time. Ducks, jam and cookies are the trick!

Fauntleroy Food Fest 2013

Even though it’s all about community it was the FOOD that drove them in to mingle with neighbors! Kids of all ages enjoyed the tasty treats provided by local Fauntleroy community vendors. It was also a time of reflection as we said good-bye to long-time President of the Fauntleroy Community Association, Bruce Butterfield and hello to a new President, David Haggerty! El Paso Holocaust Museum sheds light
On a return visit to New Mexico I visited the El Paso Holocaust Museum. Another memorial to those who lost their lives, survived, and helped save lives during Hitler’s attempt to wipe out a class of citizens.
The displays featured stunning graphics that effectively tell the story of the Holocaust. Life in Europe before the Nazi Party; the Rise of the Nazi Party; the Use of Nazi Propaganda; Kristallnacht ; Life in the Ghettos; Transportation by Railcars to the Camps; Life and Death in Nazi Concentration Camps; Liberation by the Allied Forces; the Righteous Among the Nations; a Memorial and Reflection Room; and a Gallery of El Paso Holocaust Survivors.
Hitler’s actions certainly touched more lives in more places than one can imagine. Thhe founder of the museum was born in Lodz, Poland. His life in the ghetto was heartbreaking yet it was there he met and married his wife. together they escaped the camp and eventually settled in El Paso, Texas.

Meet Olivia
Olivia is six weeks old. Just out of that scrunchy baby look and learning to stretch her arms and legs. Daddy just dotes on her and no doubt will grow up to be a darling little girl seeing as how she already has a closet full of clothes! Here are some of my favorite images from out first meeting.
Fun in Georgetown
I love the wild child senior portrait! Kati was the perfect subject for the Georgetown area. She brought a van full of outfits and we wandered the area while mom played taxi driver for us. We found lots of interesting architecture, trucks and a vintage trailer shopping mall!
Oh! Henry….
Parents always wonder why I don’t take time to gather information like name, address, serial number before we begin our sessions.. Answer is simple – when kids are involved the first few minutes are crucial. Henry was smiling and there was no time to waste! We got some great shots before he decided it was time for a nap…
CCFA Casino Night & Auction
It was a grand party for the local Crohn’s & Colitis chapter as they hosted their CCFA Casino Night & Auction at 415 Westlake. Bidding was exciting as guests vied for trips, tickets to Pearl Jam concerts, chef’s dinner party and more. Nancy Leson was on hand to share her involvement with CCFA. Of course, there were some exciting moments on the casino floor as well….click here for more images
