Dark skies threatened the arrival but as usual in Seattle, the skies cleared over the city and the Blue Angels arrived. I waited for them at the Museum of Flight. Bystanders were thrilled by a quick formation overhead and then we watched as they landed one by one. Even from behind the fence we had a real thrill. Seafair officials greeted the pilots. I was pleased to notice a female pilot – Katie Higgins, the first woman pilot for the Blue Angels. Can’t wait to see their real show!

3 photographers, 1 salad
Three of us hit the road the other day to explore the small towns of Bow and Edison. First stop was Bow Hill Blueberries. A charming roadside farm that grows blueberries and the prettiest sunflowers. Next stop was the Edison Cafe. Had fresh turkey sandwiches that were very tasty (I only could eat half). We meandered down more side roads and found the bustling main streets of Edison. Art galleries, junk stores, antique stores, plenty more places to eat and the resident big brown dog. Bought some rye bread from the Breadfarm, where we watched ’em rolling out the dough for the weekend rush.
Back to Bow Hill Blueberries for some delicious blueberry ice cream…what a treat! More side roads, sunken boats, stunning overlooks, stone houses, Larrabie state park and dinner at the Chuckanut Manor. We shared one delicious salmon, peach, and shrimp salad as we watched the sun set.
All in all an enjoyable day for three peeps with cameras!

Burien Car Show as seen with a Lensbaby
Every photographer I know has a bag full of ‘toys.’ So I dug mine out and came up with my Lensbaby – a funky little lens that is challenging to focus yet fun to use. It has fairly soft focus and the ability to add a blurred effect by bending the lens. The car show was a perfect place to fine tune my skills with it. In particular I like to photograph the hood ornaments, steering wheels, and dashboards.
In honor of Father’s Day
In honor of Father’s Day I took in the Burien Car Show. My dad would have enjoyed it. There were the usual suspects: Chevys, Fords, Studebakers, a beautiful Buick Roadmaster and something I had never really seen before – vintage tow trucks! There was entertainment all along the main drag and food, of course.
Chihuly Glass Museum is spectacular
A visit to the Chihuly Glass Museum was well worth the trip. Several small galleries were home to beautiful glass installations – all with a different theme. See if you can identify them!
It’s never too cold for senior pics!
Mia needed her senior photo for the high school annual. These last few days have been chilly but beautiful outdoors…so, we braved the chill and got some really stunning images! She’s sassy, she’s confident, she’s adorable…
James and Brandy
I will be photographing James and Brandy’s wedding in a couple of weeks. We met up at Alki to do some fun engagement type photos of the two of them. They are a quiet but fun loving couple and I can’t wait for their big day!
Hannalie’s Senior Session
A friend suggested Hannalie call me for her senior portraits since she no longer lives in the area. It was fun to finally put a name to a face and family I had heard about regularly. We had a wonderfully warm but slightly overcast afternoon for our romp thru the park. Hannalie attends Emerald Ridge High in Puyallup. Here are some of my favorites…
Jordan’s Senior Session
Jordan was pretty laid back as we wandered thru the park for his senior session. We swung by the baseball field and got some nice shots there before hitting the trail and seeking out unusual spots. To top off the shoot mom spotted an eagle guarding her nest. It was a great day for a shoot!
